Our values.

  • Decolonialism & Anti-establishment

The traditional mental health model often centers on individual deficiency, overlooking the profound impact of the systems in which we are embedded—family, society, culture, and environment. At Clove, we reject this paradigm. Struggling to cope is not a personal flaw to be pathologized but a response to the toxicity of oppressive systems, cultural values, or environmental conditions.

We also hold an unwavering commitment to acknowledging and dismantling the systemic harm psychology has historically inflicted—particularly on BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ communities. Clove stands as a space that challenges these legacies of abuse, suppression, and misinformation, striving instead to honor the complexity and resilience of those we serve.

  • Sovereignty

We honor the sovereignty of the Self above all else. Here, we uphold your right to choice, autonomy, and agency as foundational to your well-being. We reject structures, organizations, and institutions that attempt to define your worth, value, or lovability based on productivity, compliance, or blind loyalty. Instead, we believe your inherent worth is unshakable and independent of external expectations.

  • Inclusivity & Acceptance

We stand firmly in our values: Black Lives Matter. Love is love. Women’s rights are human rights. Science is real. Climate change is real, and so are the human impacts driving it. All bodies—regardless of shape, color, or ability—are beautiful and worthy. No human is illegal. Diversity is essential. Children deserve respect.

We welcome and encourage differing viewpoints, but we reject hate in all its forms, whether disguised as free speech, religious doctrine, or cultural tradition.

  • Unseen Influence

We honor the truth that while we are sovereign beings, we are also woven into the fabric of a vast and unknowable greater whole. Whether you name this force The Universe, Source, scientific theory, God, quantum law, energy, or Love, we embrace the mystery of what cannot be fully understood.

Here, we approach these unknowns with intention, courage, and faith—acknowledging that some truths may remain beyond certainty, yet still hold profound meaning.
